The Workshop is a DYE CLASS with Stephanie Allen-Krauss. Probably her last one ever!
Dye Class particulars: Join Stephanie Allen Krauss for a 5-hour class in exploring the basics of dyeing wool and setting up a dye station for your own home. We'll explore several types of dyes, read formulas in dye books, and learn to measure correctly. We'll talk about safety and each student will have the opportunity to try the whole process start to finish. We'll experiment with different processes such as swatch dyeing and dip dyeing, over-dyeing textures and maybe even some "bleeding wool".
Induction hot plates and hotel pans are included in the student materials fee, as well as dye spoons, assorted dyes, gloves, synthropol and citric acid for setting colors, so that students will have everything they need to set up their own home dye station.
Students will be responsible for bringing white or natural wool, assorted light colors and textured wool to over-dye and two Pyrex measuring cups (1 cup & 2 cup). Wool will be available for purchase on the day of class.
  • This is for people that are not yet members to register at a higher rate
  • On June 18, registration will be opened for non-members to register for this event.  The Dye class will be $65 and the Hook-in $25.  At the time of the event, attendees of the Dye class will also be asked to pay Stephanie an additional $90 for the needed supplies.

Best of all, it’s a perfect summer day to relax, create, and connect with your fiber art community.
